Hello Bourgade Community, My name is Jeana Angulo and I am a graduate from the class of 2007. When the decision to attend Bourgade Catholic High School was final, I must admit it was not on my own. My sister was entering into her junior year after transferring from St. Mary’s high School. So the decision to attend St. Mary’s was out of the question for me. I entered Bourgade as a student that was not extremely willing to get involved and do may activities. This was mainly because I was scared of putting myself out there to try something new. On the contrary though, after spending my first semester at Bourgade, I discovered how easy it was for me to actually just be myself. I was quickly welcomed into the Bourgade community. This inspired me to try completely new activities and discover new experiences. I ran for class president going into my sophomore year, and, to my surprise, I won. This was entirely new for me, but I can say this was the absolute best experience of my life. For the next couple of years, all the way to my senior year, I was class president. Through working on student council I was able to learn an immense amount about responsibility, organization and was able to work with amazing moderators every year. Other than student council, I was also able to join the dance team, track team, cheer line, softball team, and surprisingly enough, I auditioned for the spring musical and received a character within the show. Other activities that I was able to enjoy was joining clubs. There was no limit on how many clubs you were able to participate in, you could chose at your own choice and desire. While attending Bourgade I was involved with a compilation of clubs such as Active Bourgade Christians, SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving), peer helpers, and, as mentioned before, student council. One last opportunity that I was able to participate in was the Mexico Mission Trip. This trip was very dear to me because it truly exemplified what we, as a community, are about. The school allowed us to spread our Christian love to people beyond our community and beyond many limits. Every activity that I have participated in has shaped me into the person that I am today. I know that I would not be who I am if I had not attended Bourgade Catholic High School. I can say this with full confidence because there is only one Bourgade and all of the people that fill this campus have impacted my life in many ways. I am positive that many other schools have the activities, clubs and are filled with wonderful people, but the difference is that Bourgade is a new family with unconditional love for each of it’s persons that enter it’s campus. When each student leaves that campus they, will have been blessed with a gift to attend such a passionate school. I know that I have been blessed by the presence of everyone that surrounded me during my high school career, and I am positive that I would not have received the same experience elsewhere. Bourgade has helped me further develop myself as a person with the foundation that my parents have set. The community strived for our well being so that when we leave this campus, we will leave as young adults who walk the earth as disciples of Jesus and share our gifts of wisdom and morality with the rest of the world. I am grateful for the opportunity that was presented to me, my peers and all students who came before me and will come after me. I would like to extend a genuine thank you to all who were a part of my journey. God Bless! Sincerely, Jeana Angulo
